Job Description

A Data Entry job involves accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining information in company databases and systems, requiring high attention to detail, fast typing, and organizational skills to manage large volumes of data from various sources (paper, digital) while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity through verification and error correction. Key responsibilities include transcribing, sorting, verifying data, generating reports, and maintaining records, supporting smooth business operations and decision-making across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Data Input: Entering alphabetic, numeric, and symbolic data from source documents into digital systems (databases, spreadsheets) using keyboard or scanner.
Verification & Accuracy: Checking data for errors, discrepancies, and completeness; correcting mistakes and re-entering data as needed.
Database Management: Updating, maintaining, and organizing records for easy access and retrieval, including backups and purging duplicate files.
Reporting: Generating reports and providing data to other teams or management as requested.
Confidentiality: Handling sensitive information with discretion, adhering to data protection policies.
Preparation: Sorting, compiling, and preparing physical and digital documents for entry.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy is paramount to prevent errors.
Typing Speed & Accuracy: Fast and precise keyboarding skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and structure large datasets and filing systems.
